Awards given to Father William B. Wasson

1977 –The Luis Elizondo Humanitarian Award, The Mexican National Prize, for his contribution to the children of Mexico. He is the only US citizen to receive this award.
1979 –Good Samaritan Award from the National Catholic Development Conference (NCDC)
1981 –Franciscan International Award
1990 –Order of the Aztec Eagle, Mexico's highest award, recognizing services performed for Mexico or humanity by persons of foreign nationality. This was the first time a priest had been honored.
1997 –National Caring Award by the Caring Institute of Washington DC
1998 –KFC's Colonel's Way Award honoring amazing seniors
1998 –El Sol de Nuestra Communidad Award presented by the Hispanic Community of Phoenix, Arizona
2000 –Kellogg's Hannah Neil World of Children Award, a $100,000 prize given to individuals who make a difference in the world of children.
2003 –Fr. Wasson receives the Jefferson Award for Public Service, which is recognized as the “Nobel Prize” for public service in America. Nominated by a former pequeño, Fr. Wasson was recognized for his volunteer service to the Hispanic community.
2004 –International Erich Fromm Award
2005 –Ivy Humanitarian Award by the Ivy Inter-American Foundation, for working to improve the lives of children and their communities in the Americas
2005 –A finalist for the Opus Prize, Fr. Wasson was awarded $100,000 for his "driving entrepreneurial spirit with an abiding faith to combat poverty, illiteracy, hunger, disease and injustice".
