This new structure will include a Administrative Assistant and one Youth Supervision Assistant. This team will be aided by four full-time caregivers living in the high school and university homes (two caregivers for girls, two caregivers for boys).
We plan to hire caregivers with prior teaching or tutoring experience. These four caregivers will be full-time, live-in staff members, able to provide continuous academic support to our youth homes. By offering study skills, tutoring services, time management tips, and exam preparation, this extra staff will lead our youth toward higher academic achievement.
Staff will also spearhead and oversee new extracurricular programs for our young men and women. Each student will be encouraged to choose one hobby, sport, or other extracurricular activity to pursue throughout the school year providing positive outlets and an escape from the dangers and temptations of life in Tegucigalpa.
Lastly, as live-in staff members, these new employees will offer increased supervision for our teenagers living primarily on their own in youth housing. Providing emotional support as well as conflict resolution, caregivers will also monitor, report, and intervene in any inappropriate behaviors.
